What is the circumference of a circle?

The circumference of a circle is the total length of its boundary, given by C = 2πr, where r is the radius.
The working
Meaning
The circumference is the distance once around the circle, that is, the perimeter of the circular boundary.
Formula
It is C = 2πr in terms of the radius, or C = πd in terms of the diameter, since the diameter d = 2r.
Role of π
The ratio of circumference to diameter is always the constant π ≈ 3.14 or 22÷7, the same for every circle.
Example
For a circle of radius 7 cm, C = 2 × (22÷7) × 7 = 44 cm.
