What are mean, median and mode?

Mean, median and mode are the three measures of central tendency: the average, the middle value, and the most frequent value of a data set.
The working
Mean
The mean is the arithmetic average, found by dividing the sum of all values by their number: Mean = Σx ÷ n.
Median
The median is the middle value when data is arranged in order. For an even count of items, it is the average of the two middle values.
Mode
The mode is the value that occurs most frequently in the data. A data set can have one mode, more than one, or none.
Empirical relation
For a moderately skewed distribution, Mode = 3 Median − 2 Mean links the three measures.
Example
For 2, 3, 3, 5, 7 the mean is 20÷5 = 4, the median is 3, and the mode is 3.
